HSG Discussion with Ann Morris PA-C
Posted: 2/7/2023
An HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is a procedure that is most often a part of the initial infertility evaluation. The procedure uses fluoroscopy to evaluate the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. The procedure begins with speculum placement and insertion of a catheter into the cervix. Contrast dye flows through the catheter and radiographic images are obtained. This procedure will let us know if the fallopian tubes are patent. The provider will review the results of the examination in the procedure room with you.
