We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Deidre Downs, a highly accomplished reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) specialist, will be joining the Reach Fertility team this January. With her extensive experience and patient-centered approach to care, Dr. Downs is dedicated to helping individuals and couples achieve their dreams of building a family.
Dr. Downs brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Reach Fertility. She is a board-certified REI specialist and obstetrician-gynecologist with advanced fellowship training in reproductive medicine and surgery. Before joining our team, she served as the medical director of the University of Alabama's IVF and Third-Party Reproduction programs. Her expertise spans infertility treatment, gynecologic and reproductive health conditions, and LGBTQ+ family-building options.
Dr. Downs is passionate about providing compassionate, personalized care that addresses the whole patient. She understands the physical and emotional challenges many patients face on their fertility journey and is committed to empowering them with cutting-edge treatments and unwavering support.
In addition to her impressive medical career, Dr. Downs holds a unique distinction as Miss America 2005. She used her scholarship winnings to pursue her medical degree at the University of Alabama, followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident and received the Chairman’s Award of Excellence.
Dr. Downs and her family recently relocated to Charlotte, NC, and she is excited to bring her expertise to our community. Outside of work, she enjoys creative writing, graphic design, photography, and video games, all of which fuel her passion for innovation and problem-solving.
